I've just come to a realization: all of humanity's problems are a result of people not having any common sense. Any problem at all can be resolved by people not being idiots, not over-thinking and over-analyzing things but just by applying some common sense.

Exhibit A: This just pissed me off to no end.
Researchers at the University of San Diego wasted thousands dollars worth of funding and god knows how many weeks to come up with the most retarded conclusion: when you look at a face in order to try and recognize it, you look at the nose first. HOLY SHIT STOP THE PRESS.

""The nose may be where the information about the face is balanced in all directions, or the optimal viewing position for face recognition", the researchers from UC San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering propose in a paper recently published in the journal Psychological Science."

I could have told you that without wasting anyone's time or money. The nose is in the center of the face, of course it's the optimal viewing position when trying to recognize a face, you wouldn't look at someone's chin when meeting them, unless you're cross-eyed or the person is sporting a huge mole which you can't help but look at. I know, I deserve a Nobel prize in something scientsy, but I can apply for that later.

What really pissed me off is that those people are sitting there wasting weeks to come up with something that could have been figured out had someone had a little common sense over there. When they were trying to find out out which part of the face people look at first in order to recognize it, why did no one go "Oh well that's obvious, it's gotta be the nose, it's smack in the middle and from there you can see the rest of the face in equal balance." Thus saving a shit load of money and everyone's time and maybe concentrating on something worthwhile like curing cancer or creating Mountain Dew that never goes flat, or a new flavor of Skittles. Hopefully the last two.

Common sense is the answer to all our problems, now everyone's gotta figure out where to get some and then life would be simple and carefree.

Ok so uni was already awesome, but it just got a whole lot more awesome. I've only had 6 weeks of lectures (and during which a 5 day weekend) when bam! 3 week break. Where as at school it was 10 weeks study 2 weeks break.

Say what you will but education is awesome from where I'm sitting.

With 3 weeks paid leave from work, no uni for almost 2 months and in the middle of summer this looks to be the best holiday evar. I bet you are all jealous freezing in your northern hemisphere.
